Starboard proudly presents the Velocity Paddle, an advanced innovation designed to revolutionize paddling with its focus on reduced body impact, enhanced endurance, and superior performance. Engineered with a series of cutting-edge features, the Velocity Paddle promises to deliver the cleanest entry and exit, even power distribution, and exceptional efficiency for paddlers of all levels.
The Velocity Paddle was developed with the goal of creating a blade that minimizes physical strain while maximizing performance in distance and endurance races. Key design elements were meticulously implemented to meet these objectives:
DOUBLE CONCAVE DESIGN
Our double concave design ensures powerful acceleration at high speeds while remaining shallow enough to prevent splash on entry and reduce body strain. This design facilitates smooth, efficient strokes without compromising on performance.
SHARP CENTER RIDGE
The paddle features a sharp center ridge that enhances clean entry and exit while maintaining excellent tracking through the water. This design element ensures a consistent and effective stroke with minimal disruption.
WINGLETS
Drawing from our extensive research and development, including trials with various foils and wing tips, the winglet design minimizes turbulence and flutter. Located at the edges of the blade, the winglets enable the paddle to glide smoothly through the water, reducing awkward sideways shake and enhancing overall efficiency.
THIN BLADE PROFILE
The entire blade is designed to be thin, reducing splash on both entry and exit. This design choice contributes to a cleaner, more efficient paddling experience.
Multiple members of our test team tried out the blade, comparing blades:
"It was pretty clear within a few minutes that the thin blade had a very special feeling. We were amazed at how little splash the paddle had when placed into the water, the tracking of the blade was precise and there was barely any shake/flutter from the blade.
We were very excited about this concept. Up against the Lima, we loved both paddles for different reasons, the Lima had the power and brute force, whereas the Velocity felt clean, refined and you could bury the paddle much deeper while feeling less strain on your muscles."
